One thing that I like to do is download certain sports podcasts and put them on my itunes. When I'm at school, the car, or at home I can listen to these podcasts. I love Bill Simmons of ESPN.com and his B.S. Report. Other personalities I like include WFAN's Mike Francesa, and ESPN' Colin Cowherd and I will download and listen to their podcasts from time to time. I also enjoy ESPNU's college football podcast and ESPN has a NFL Draft Preview Podcast each week now leading up to the draft with Mel Kiper and Todd McShay which is very good as well. But by far my favorite sports podcast is Tony Kornheiser's radio show.
Many of you know him from PTI. He is great on that show. But he is a million times better on radio. He does a local radio show in Washington D.C. for that city's ESPN Radio station from 10 a.m. to Noon each weekday. And it is great. He bashes everyone. From Hoda Kopi of the TODAY Show to Gilbert Arenas to local Maryland polticians who he dislikes to even the love of my life Rihanna, who he thinks has no talent, Kornheiser will bash everyone calling for their heads and in some cases death. He does it all in a sarcastically funny way.
One of his targets is (now was, he won't bash her ever again)Hannah Storm. Storm is a beautiful woman who does the morning SportsCenter and likes to wear different "fashionable" outfits. Last Tuesday Kornheiser had this to say on Storm:
"Hannah Storm in a horrifying, horrifying outfit today. She's got on red go-go boots and a catholic school plaid skirt ... way too short for somebody in her 40s or maybe early 50s by now." [She's 47.] "She's got on her typically very, very tight shirt. She looks like she has sausage casing wrapping around her upper body ... I know she's very good, and I'm not supposed to be critical of ESPN people, so I won't ... but Hannah Storm ... come on now! Stop! What are you doing? ... She's what I would call a Holden Caulfield fantasy at this point."
Kornheiser was soon suspended for two weeks to go on PTI by ESPN and has since apologozied to Storm. I listened to it on my iPod and at the time thought nothing of it because he has bashed her, along with so many other people,so many times before. Should he have said it? No. But I loved it. He is so funny on radio. He'll talk sports but he'll also talk music, politics, funny news stories, anything and everything. As I said he is by far my favorite podcast and he is still doing the radio show despite not being on PTI. In fact yesterday when I went to download the lastest podcast on my iPod I saw his show became the most popular sports podcast which never has been before. So if your looking to listen to something funny on sports and other matters I say check his show out. You can get it on your iTunes by typing in his name or go to http://www.espn980.com to download episodes their. On this video go from the 31 second mark to the 1:46 mark for the audio of it. You'll notice he also bashes Chris Berman for putting on all the weight he said he lost from Nutrisystem.
So Kornheiser ya messed but keep up the bashing.
